Arsenal can set Premier League record if they beat Man Utd at Old Trafford | Football

Arsenal will set a Premier League record if they extend their winning run against Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday.
The Gunners will arrive at the home of one of their traditional rivals as strong favourites, despite being in the midst of a major injury crisis.
Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz will all be missing, forcing Mikel Merino to continue in his new role up front.
Arsenal made light of their missing forwards in midweek, hammering PSV Eindhoven 7-1 to all but book their place in the Champions League and will be in justifiably confident mood when they take on a vulnerable Untied.
Moreover, they will be gunning for revenge after January’s shock FA Cup defeat to Ruben Amorim’s side.

On that occasion, United battled manfully with 10 men before prevailing in a penalty shootout win that has proved one of the few high points in Amorim’s tenure so far.
When it comes to top flight games of late, however, Arsenal have firmly held the upper hand.

Indeed, should they be victorious this weekend they will become the first team to win five successive games against United in the competition’s history.
Mikel Arteta’s men extended their winning sequence against the Red Devilsin December when they triumphed 2-0 at the Emirates thanks to set piece goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba.
At Old Trafford last season, meanwhile, a single Leandro Trossard goal proved the difference in the penultimate game of the campaign.
Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp can only see the game going one way, especially with Martin Odegaard having restored a measure of confidence following his brace in Eindhoven.
‘Manchester United weren’t great against Fulham but I thought they were alright in the week against Real Sociedad, but I’m not sure how much that game will have taken out of these players, particularly with the second leg looming next week,’ Redknapp told BetVictor.

‘As for Arsenal, where on earth did that performance in Eindhoven come from? I know some people will say PSV were terrible but Arsenal were superb and looked much more like themselves going forward.
‘I can only see the away win here; I don’t know how United can threaten that solid Arsenal backline.’
United legend Gary Neville, however, feels it is the sort of fixture his old team will turn up in and upset the odds.
‘I think that will be the case on Sunday. The crowd will be with them, I think it will be 1-1.’
