When is Amad Diallo back from injury for Manchester United? | Football

Amad Diallo has been out for a month with an ankle injury and was thought to be out for the season, but Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has hinted that may not be the case.
The 22-year-old has been one of the few bright points in the Red Devils’ nightmare season so far.
While Amorim has struggled to get performances or results out of his squad, Amad was doing very nicely under the Portuguese and has six Premier League goals to his name this season.
It was a huge blow to the club when the Ivory Coast international picked up a serious ankle injury in training last month.
‘Extremely disappointed to be writing this message in such a crucial time of the season,’ Amad told his followers on social media on February 15.

‘Unfortunately, I will be out for some time with an injury. I will come back stronger than ever!! Time to support the boys from the outside. Still loads to play for.’
Amorim suggested that ‘some time’ meant that his winger would be out for the rest of the season, saying: ‘Amad is out for sure until the end of the season.

‘Amad was alone. He was doing a tackle. The feet were sticking in the grass.’
However, there now appears to be hope that the former Atalanta man could play again this season, even if it is right at the end of the campaign.
The Premier League season ends on May 25 and Amorim hinted that his winger could be playing again by then.
Giving an update on team news, Amorim told a press conference ahead of Manchester United’s clash with Arsenal on Sunday: ‘I think it’s just Amad and Martinez (who won’t play again this season). Even Amad, we will see in the end of the last month.
‘He could be… I don’t want to say nothing, but I have the hope to have Amad before the end of the season. We’ll see.’

United’s last three games of the Premier League campaign come on at home to West Ham (May 10), away to Chelsea (May 18) and then at home against Aston Villa (May 25).
Amorim will also hope his team are still alive in the Europa League at that point, with the semi-finals played over two legs on May 1 and 8. The Europa League final is played in Bilbao on May 21.
With Amorim’s hope for ‘the end of the last month’ it could be that Amad returns for the final two Premier League games of the campaign, and United will hope the Europa League final.

There was serious concern over the rest of the Manchester United season when Amad suffered the injury and things have not gone very well for Amorim’s side since.
Giving his reaction to Amad’s setback on NBC Sports, ex-United and USA goalkeeper Tim Howard said: ‘We’ve been saying it for a few weeks now. No one is getting this, no one is understanding the system.
‘The one player that is shining is Amad so it’s gone from almost bad to worse.
‘It’s impossible to say this about Manchester United but this just feels like, for Amorim, it’s going to be another tinker job: square pegs in round holes, who can do a job here and maybe produce a good performance?’
