Fascinating Look Back at the Sony BRAVIA KDL22PX300, a 22-inch LCD TV with an Integrated PS2 Console

Released in 2010 and priced at around $258 ($376 in 2025), the Sony BRAVIA KDL22PX300 is essentially a 22-inch LCD TV with a PS2 console integrated directly into its base. It was primarily marketed in the UK as an all-in-one entertainment solution, possibly to clear surplus PS2 inventory, especially since the PS3 had already been on the market for several years by then.
The 22-inch LCD boasts a 720p HD resolution (1366×768) utilizes Sony’s BRAVIA Engine 3 for image processing, which enhances picture quality through improved contrast, color accuracy, and noise reduction. As for the built-in PS2, it uses a standard 90000 series motherboard (GH-072) and includes a disc drive for playing PS2 games, DVDs, and CDs, complete with a sliding disc cover mechanism. Unlike a standard PS2 console, this hybrid device features four HDMI ports, three USB ports (two of which are USB 1.1), a VGA input, component and composite video inputs, SCART, and an Ethernet port.

The fun fact about SCART. Even though it was mainly a European thing you can still play NTSC games through SCART on a PAL TV with no issues from what I remember since SCART can do both 50/60hz and will display in full speed and color,” said one commenter.
