What do England need to do to win the Six Nations? Permutations revealed

England enter the final weekend of Six Nations action with a slim chance of upsetting the odds and winning the entire tournament.
A respectable performance in the opening weekend defeat to Ireland was followed by narrow wins over France and Scotland.
But after France beat Ireland and Steve Bortwick’s side cruised to victory against Italy, England now have a chance of winning the Six Nations on the final weekend having come into the tournament as outsiders.
Ahead of their final match against Wales, here are the permutations as to what England need to do to win their first Six Nations title since 2020.
What do England need to do to win the Six Nations?

After last weekend’s action, the top three are separated by just two points. France lead the way on 16 points, with England on 15 and Ireland one further back on 14.
France, however, have a huge advantage when it comes to points difference, 86 ahead of England and 93 ahead of Ireland.

That seismic advantage means that even a victory without a bonus point is virtually guaranteed to be enough for Les Bleus to secure the title.
Should France lose to Scotland, however, England can win the Six Nations if they secure a bonus-point victory against Wales.

A victory without the bonus may also be enough for Borthwick’s side providing France lose and don’t secure any bonus points.
And a draw or a defeat with two bonus points could also be enough for England, although that would require both France and Ireland to lose without claiming bonus points.
