Reboot Buggy Puts a Modern Twist on Horseless Carriages with V8 Power

Joey Ruiter’s Reboot Buggy puts a modern twist on horseless carriages and might be one of the most unique vehicles you’ve ever seen. Power comes from a Chevy-sourced 6.3L V8 engine making 400hp, mated to a 3-speed automatic transmission.
Michigan-based artist Joey Ruiter spent 9-months designing and building the Reboot Buggy as a bare-bones, back-to-the-basics form of transportation using just basic tools. Featuring an aluminum radiator, electric cooling fan, a FAST fuel-injection system, King Shocks coilovers, a Ford Explorer-sourced braking system, hydraulic power steering, a WARN Industries winch, sport seats, a quick-release steering wheel, and 18-inch XD wheels wrapped in 40-inch Yokohama Geolandar mud-terrain tires.

The Reboot Buggy was built from scratch, so there’s nothing else like it out there, and it’s certainly one of the wildest-looking cars we’ve ever listed on Cars & Bids. It features a mid-mounted V8, two seats with harnesses, an off-road-ready suspension system, 40-inch mud-terrain tires, and much more – and I love the function-over-form styling,” said Doug DeMuro, Cars & Bids Co-Founder.
