Ubisoft Assassin's Creed Shadows Promo TV Intro
Ubisoft has just released a 1980s live action TV intro-inspired Assassin’s Creed Shadows promo video in celebration of the game’s launch today (March 20). This installment is set in feudal Japan during the late Sengoku period and introduces players to two protagonists: Naoe, a stealth-focused shinobi assassin, and Yasuke, a combat-oriented African samurai inspired by the historical figure of the same name.

The launch of Assassin’s Creed Shadows coincides with a bittersweet moment for Ubisoft, which has been navigating a rough patch, including studio closures, layoffs, and buyout talks with Tencent. Still, Shadows is a big bet for them, and pre-order numbers reportedly match Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, a series high point. Today’s rollout includes a stunning world to explore, from castle towns to war-torn landscapes, with dynamic weather and reactive environments adding to the vibe.

This is a serious opportunity to right the ship for Ubisoft. They knock out the Splinter Cell remake, remake the original Assassin’s Creed and Black Flag with the gameplay of Shadows and updated graphics they have a chance to get back to the good old days,” said one commenter.
