Thomas Tuchel issues ‘worrying’ Anthony Gordon injury update after England beat Albania | Football

Thomas Tuchel has described Anthony Gordon’s injury as ‘worrying’ after the Newcastle United winger was forced off during England’s 2-0 win against Albania on Friday night.
Goals in each half from Myles Lewis-Skelly and Harry Kane sealed a victory for Tuchel in his first game as England manager at Wembley.
Gordon, meanwhile, was introduced as a substitute in the 74th minute but in the closing stages of the game he was curled up on the side of the pitch holding his stomach.
The 24-year-old was able to get to his feet and continued to play on, although he was walking gingerly around the pitch.

However, with just seconds to go before the final whistle, Gordon was down on the pitch once again and appeared to hold his right hip before he was treated by England’s physio team.
‘He looks injured,’ Tuchel said after England’s win.
‘First of all I thought it’s his stomach but it’s his hip and it doesn’t not look good. A bit worrying.’
Gordon is now a major doubt to feature in England’s second 2026 World Cup qualifier against Latvia on Monday night.
