A future Apple Watch with two screens and cameras might be in the works, or at least according to a recently uncovered patent filing. More specifically, one that was approved by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office on March 20, 2025, titled “wearable electronic device”, from Apple’s Design Lead, Vladimir Krneta.
Apple’s dreaming up a foldable watch with a clever twist—a ‘fixed’ main body and a ‘movable’ second screen that flips or extends, like a mini clamshell phone for your wrist. The patent teases a hinged fold, a flip-out panel, or an adjustable setup, all with a smooth, crease-free ‘continuous’ display that feels like one big screen when open.

It’s built for flexibility: folded, it’s a compact device for time, notifications, or fitness tracking; unfolded, it’s a bigger canvas for video calls, browsing, or gaming—pushing the Apple Watch to stand on its own, not just tag along with your iPhone. Plus, it’s got dual cameras—one outward on the movable part for pics and scans, another inward for FaceTime, with adjustable angles and sharing tricks. Optical sensors might tag along too, sniffing out whether it’s open or closed, and maybe even catching motion or light shifts.
