There’s the AYANEO AM02, and now, the AYANEO AM01S, an innovative mini PC with a 4-inch flip-up smart display that can be used to check performance data, widgets, or even switching modes. It was first announced in 2024, but at that time, we only got a few renders of the computer.

Initially set to feature an AMD Hawk Point processor, like the Ryzen 9 8945HS, this compact device has received a significant upgrade. The manufacturer has revamped its motherboard, paving the way for a more powerful option: the AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 Strix Point processor. What does this mean for users? The original mini PC would have been able to handle a processor with up to 8 CPU cores for general tasks and 12 graphics cores for visuals. Now, the AM01S can support a chip with up to 12 CPU cores—built for better efficiency and speed—and 16 graphics cores for sharper, smoother images.

The AM01S is like the Swiss Army knife of connectivity, despite its size, but with a tech twist that keeps things snappy and straightforward. This little beast rocks two USB4 ports, screaming along at 40 Gbps, perfect for hooking up blazing-fast drives or docks that make you feel like a futuristic maestro. Then there’s a generous handful of five USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, clocking in at 10 Gbps each—plenty of room for your peripherals, from keyboards to external SSDs, without breaking a sweat.
