Actors Michael Paré and Erik Fellows star in the new thriller “Death 4 Dinner,” which was directed by Lana Read (“Forbearance”).

The synopsis is: Detective Noah Rafferty (Michael Paré) and Detective Isaiah Baker (Wendell Kinney) are assigned to investigate Senator Andrew Rutherford’s (Cyril O’Reilly) abrupt death.

The senator’s eccentric siblings-all vying for a taste of their late father’s vast fortune-add layers of intrigue and distraction amidst their grief.

Each sibling presents their own peculiarities and their varying eccentricities begin to collide with the investigation, making every questioning session a spectacle.

Michael Paré commands each scene he is in (where the viewer can recall Eric Roberts, and that is meant as a compliment), and he works well opposite Wendell Kinney as his detective partner.

Erik Fellows (“Purgatory”) is not afraid to be raw and vulnerable in the role of Taylor Rutherford, and he bares it all in the bathroom scene (literally); moreover, this film showcases yet another side to Fellows’ artistry, and he manages to push the envelope.

While the screenplay is mediocre at best (feeling clunky at times) and the sound is lackluster, the actors make it work with the material that they have. It lives up to its tagline in that “the devil is in the details.”

The multiple twists and turns will keep fans and viewers entertained, shocked, and even laughing at times. Everybody in this cast is able to offer something distinct to the table.

The Verdict

Overall, “Death 4 Dinner” is a high-adrenaline, quirky, and pulse-pounding movie by Lana Reed.

Filled with suspense, this murder mystery will keep the audience engaged and guessing the entire time “who did it?” It has an eerie mood to it, and it’s one wild yet immersive ride. “Death 4 Dinner” garners four out of five stars.
