You Can Download a New Playable Demo of the Fan Sonic Adventure 2 Unreal Engine 5 Remake Now

Many have seen the first trailer, but now, fans can download a new playable demo of the much anticipated Sonic Adventure 2 Unreal Engine 5 remake. Officially called ‘Sonic Adventure 2 Redux’, this remake uses a custom branch of the Velocity+ engine called the Azure Framework. This overhauls the physics, camera, controls, and UI, aiming to blend the classic Sonic Adventure 2 feel with a smoother, more modern experience.

The demo features real-time path tracing, which means reflections, shadows, and lighting in stages like Radical Highway, White Jungle, and Green Forest look stunningly lifelike compared to the original’s simpler shading. Beyond path tracing, UE5’s tools like Lumen (for dynamic global illumination) and Nanite (for highly detailed geometry) show what the game would look like on modern consoles like the PS5 as well as Xbox Series X | S.
