This device, with four interconnected panels with three hinges, allowing it to fold in multiple ways, was spotted in a recent “ELECTRONIC DEVICE INCLUDING BENDABLE DISPLAY” patent filing.
Productivity fans rejoice! Unlike Huawei’s outward-folding Mate XT Ultimate, Samsung’s quad-fold opts for an inward-folding design to protect the display when folded. The four panels are joined horizontally, resulting in a continuous flexible display that could be used as a single-panel smartphone, a dual-panel media consumption device, a tri-panel tablet, or a full quad-panel layout.
