SEGA Dreamcast Port Grand Theft Auto Vice City
This SEGA Dreamcast port (DCA3) of Grand Theft Auto Vice City is a fan-made, unofficial project that utilizes reverse-engineered source code from the RE3 project. The latter is essentially a decompilation of the original RenderWare engine used in both GTA III and Vice City.

Since these two games share a similar engine and codebase, the team was able to adapt their GTA III port relatively quickly to create a Vice City version for the Dreamcast. To play this port, you’ll need a legitimate PC copy of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Users must compile the game themselves using instructions provided on the project’s GitHub page, creating a .CDI image playable on a Dreamcast capable of running burned discs or equipped with an optical drive emulator like a GDEMU.

Performance-wise, while the GTA III port (DCA3) reportedly achieved around 25 FPS in its alpha state with some stuttering, the Vice City port benefits from ongoing optimizations. The team has noted intentions to keep the codebases of both ports in sync, meaning improvements to Vice City—such as better frame rates or texture handling—may also enhance DCA3.
