Danny Welbeck makes Premier League history with latest Brighton goal | Football

Danny Welbeck is now Brighton’s record Premier League goal-scorer, taking his tally for the Seagulls in the top flight to 31.
The England international equalised for Brighton at Crystal Palace on Saturday afternoon, cancelling out Jean-Philippe Mateta’s early opener.
That takes his Premier League record for Brighton to 31 goals in 134 appearances, going clear of Pascal Gross, who scored 30 times in 228 outings.
Glenn Murray is third on the list for Brighton in the Premier League, scoring 26 times.
Welbeck has scored more goals in the Premier League for Brighton than he did for either Manchester United or Arsenal.
He netted 20 times in 92 top flight games for the Red Devils and 16 times in 88 Premier League appearances for the Gunners.
Welbeck also managed six goals in 26 Premier League outings on a loan spell at Sunderland back in the 2010/11 season.

Of course the majority of Brighton’s history was not spent in the Premier League and the club’s record scorer has many more than 31 goals.
Tommy Cook hold’s the club’s record with 123 goals in all competitions while Murray is in second place on overall goals with 111.
Gross scored 32 goals in all competitions before joining Borussia Dortmund last year.

Mateta put the Eagles ahead after just three minutes at Selhurst Park on Saturday afternoon with Welbeck levelling things up 31 minutes in.
The prolific full-back Daniel Munoz put the home side back in front shortly before the hour-mark
