Rheinmetall’s ARV3 Buffalo Advanced Armory Recovery Vehicle Has Support Blade That Doubles as a Dozer

Rheinmetall’s ARV3 Buffalo is a tough armored recovery vehicle (ARV) based on the frame of the Leopard 2 tank, so it’s super strong and a great support vehicle for modern armored forces. The Buffalo is designed to rescue and fix heavy tracked vehicles like tanks and other fighting machines, and it’s awesome at working in tough spots—like battlefields or disaster zones.
It’s got some cool tools: a strong winch that can pull 35 tons in one go (and even more with extra gear), a crane that swings 270° and can lift big tank parts like engines, and a blade on the front that can push stuff out of the way or keep the vehicle steady while it works.

The Buffalo is operated by two people—a driver and a commander—and it has smoke grenades as well as a machine gun for self-defense. It can drive up to 70 km/h (43 mph) on roads, go about 650 km (403.8 miles) before needing to be refueled, and swap out a Leopard 2 engine in just 25-35 minutes, depending on the type.
