Leicester City teenage sensation Jeremy Monga was not permitted to display the club’s own sponsor on his shirt for his Premier League debut.

Monga became the Premier League’s second-youngest player when he made his league debut for the Foxes against Newcastle United on Monday night.

Introduced by Manchester United legend Ruud van Nistelrooy as a late substitute, Monga became a Premier League player at just 15 years and 271 days old.

Only Ethan Nwaneri, the Arsenal and England U21 star, played in the Premier League at a younger age than Monga.

Fans noticed Monga wearing a different shirt to his teammates and this was due to Premier League rules pertaining to under-18 players.

Under-age players are not permitting to display certain sponsors on their shirts, including gambling companies.

Leicester City’s shirt sponsor this season has been BC GAME, a community-based, online cryptocurrency gaming platform.

Monga’s cameo was possibly the only positive for Leicester to take from their 3-0 defeat to Newcastle.

The loss saw Leicester become the first side in Football League history to lose eight successive home league games without scoring.

Jacob Murphy scored twice inside 12 minutes and Harvey Barnes netted against his former club to take Carabao Cup winners Newcastle to a comfortable win at the King Power Stadium.
