Tesla Cybertruck 2024 Porsche 911 Carrera Drag Race
Can a Tesla Cybertruck beat a 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera T in a drag race? That is the burning question that Mat Watson of CarWow wanted to answer, so he pit both vehicles against each other at Bruntingthorpe Proving Ground in Leicestershire, UK. This former airfield, now a privately owned vehicle test track, is well-known for its long runway, which is perfect for drag racing and other automotive testing.

The dual-motor Cybertruck boasts 608 horsepower and a claimed 0-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds. The 2025 Porsche 911 Carrera T draws power from a twin-turbocharged 3.0L flat-six engine producing 394 horsepower, with a 0-60 mph time of around 4.0 seconds, which makes it pretty even with the electric pickup truck, or at least on paper.

Simply put, the Cybertruck dominates off the line. Its 608 hp and AWD deliver instant torque, hitting 60 mph in 4.0 seconds. Its sheer power overwhelms the Carrera T’s 394 hp early, leading by a car length or two in the first 100 meters. However, the Cybertruck’s 6,600+ lb weight starts to hinder acceleration as speeds climb past 80-100 mph.

Based on measuring the wheel size to then calculate the distance per pixel of both finishes, the Cybertruck stopped ~100.5″ short of the line in the pavement while the 911 stopped ~84.8″ short of the line in the pavement. So the Cybertruck stopped ~16″ shorter than the 911 and won,” said one commenter.
